Let’s Not Take the Thanks out of Thanksgiving

Being your average American male, this week has for many years been about what you will eat. I mean did I really feel thankful or gratitude? Anyhoo, this week started with basketball, and on ESPN they are calling this week “Feast Week”. On “Nightline” they had a piece on Turducken, y’know where they put a chicken and a duck into a turkey. So we focus on eating, and of course being from Chinese ancestry we understand eating. Anyhoo, in light of recent efforts to ban Christmas songs or images from certain businesses, I thought about Thanksgiving. [I think a long time ago people tried to take the Christ out of Christmas]. In El Paso someone told me that x-mas doesn’t bother them, cuz X looks like the Greek letter that stands for Christ. So when I see X-mas, I see Christmas. After all doesn’t X mark the spot?

Last night went to Church, this week, I’ve gone to three Thanksgiving dinners. Last night we had sharing, it was really pretty good, to hear all these people and what they were thankful for.
